Getting Started with the PLACE Mobile App
Monitor/control all your PLACE devices from a single app. Whether you’re monitoring air quality, responding to an alert, or checking in on your loved ones, the PLACE app puts powerful control right at your fingertips.
What the App Does:
The PLACE app connects to your installed PLACE devices and depending on your PLACE model allows you to:
- Monitor smoke, CO, heat, VOC, methane, and air quality levels
- Set temperature and humidity alerts
- Receive real-time emergency notifications
- View live camera feeds and use the two-way intercom
- Silence or hush alarms remotely
- Configure lighting, white noise, and other smart features
- Track events, device health, and historical readings
Downloading the App
Search for PLACE Home Solutions and look for the logo matching your product packaging. The app is free to download and use.
System Requirements
To use the app, you’ll need:
- A Wi-Fi network (2.4GHz, 802.11g/n compatible)
- A smartphone or tablet running:
- Android 8.0+ or iOS 13.0+
- An active internet connection
- Bluetooth enabled (for initial pairing)
Getting Started: First-Time Setup
- Download the PLACE app and open it.
- Create your account using your email address.
- Add a new device by tapping the “+” icon.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to pair your device using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
- Once paired, you’ll see the device dashboard with live status and controls.
Key App Features
- Air Quality Monitoring
- Check your indoor air health at a glance. The app provides alerts for:
- VOC levels
- AQI concerns
- Temperature/humidity thresholds
Intercom & Camera
- Use live video streaming to check in on your baby, pets, or workspace.
- Tap the Intercom button to speak directly through the device.
Emergency Alerts
- If smoke, CO, heat, or gas is detected, you’ll get a push notification instantly.
- Silence false alarms from the app (if you're nearby and it's safe to do so).
Smart Features
- Control the nightlight brightness and color.
- Turn on white noise in Nursery units.
- Review device history and test logs under “Events.”
Tips for Best Experience
- Keep the app up to date to access new features and improvements.
- Ensure your device permissions (Bluetooth, mic, notifications) are enabled.
- Use strong Wi-Fi signals where PLACE devices are installed.
- For multi-room homes, consider naming each device by location.
